Rapid tooling
Rapid tooling with vacuum casting in silicon molds is a fast and effective
manufacturing method for plastic parts in small series.
Our customers apply vacuum casting parts for: function tests, market tests,
exhibits and small series from 10 up to 50 pieces.
Available are more than 40 different PU resins with characteristics like
PE, TPE, PP, PC, PMMA, PVC, PA and ABS.
Vacuum casting parts are
- transparent parts from polished milling parts or rapid prototyping models
- rubber parts (soft- to stiff elastic)
- fibre reinforced parts (carbon and glass)
- functional parts in viscose plastic
- functional parts in hard plastic
- functional parts with inlays, like metal bushing or bearing
- free-formed parts with undercut, which are demolded by force from the silicon mold
- up to 140°C temperature resistant parts
- wax models / trees for metal casting
Accuracy of rapid tooling with vacuum casting depend on
- Surface accuracy of the origin models (milling parts, stereolithographie
models, lasersintering models)
- Shrinkage of the tooling silicone (less than 0,1%)
- Shrinkage of the PU resins (available are low cost PU with a higher
shrinkage and high end PU resins with less shrinkage)
Time of delivery
- first parts including origin models manufactured within 7-8 days
- first parts with provided origin models manufactured within 4-5 days
