Rapid prototyping
Description of rapid prototyping process3D-CAD constructions are converted into volume data. STL-Data (volume data) is splited into layers. Each layer thickness is about 1-2 decimillimetre. The layer data is transferred to a rapid prototyping machine and the prototype will be built layer by layer. The specific feature of rapid prototyping is that, no tools and no shapes or any other mechanic process is required to build a one to one prototype form CAD-data. Selective laser sinteringSelective laser sintering is a rapid prototyping process, which use polyamide powder. The material is comparable with PA6 plastic. A CO2-Laser drive along the prototype contours in a powder layer of 1-2 decimillimetre. The laser melts the powder particles together. Then the machine table moves another 1-2 decimillimetre down, the second powder layer is put to the table etc. ... This process lasts until the prototype is completely built. Lasersintering prototypes or small series, are produced within 1-2 days after the data was received. Lasersintering materials
